Welcome
to the College of Education at the University of
Louisiana at Lafayette.
The College is a dynamic and comprehensive unit
with outstanding faculty who focus on teaching,
learning and development of students at all levels
throughout the life span. We believe that the schools
and other workplaces are the laboratories for our
profession in which our research should/must be
conducted.
To support this belief, we are pleased to partner
with five school systems and many other field-based
work sites. Professional Development Schools include
Charter High School, N. P. Moss Middle School, and
J. W. Faulk Elementary School, and Northside High
School in Lafayette Parish; East Elementary in St.
Landry Parish; Maurice Elementary in Vermilion Parish;
Hopkins Elementary school in Iberia Parish; Baldwin
Elementary School in St. Mary Parish. This simultaneous
renewal effort between the schools/work sites and
the College of Education exemplifies:
Our
belief that education should be seamless
from preschool - 16+;
Our
belief that field based learning extends
concepts, theory and practical applications
beyond those levels possible when all
training is conducted at the University;
and
Our
commitment to research and its application
to real world settings.
Again, welcome. We are pleased that you are visiting
us electronically. If you wish to visit us in person,
or to become a part of any one of our many exciting
and cutting edge programs as a student or faculty
member, please contact us.
