The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's Center for Gifted Education
is an instructional, research, and service center
-- one of only about 20 such comprehensive centers focusing
on the needs of high ability/gifted learners in the nation
and the only one of its scope in the State of Louisiana.

The work of the center is guided by the

Center for Gifted Education Steering Committee.

This committee serves as a support system
and helps to guide how to enhance services
and create partnerships for the benefit of
the University, College of Education, and community.

The Center for Gifted Education mission is to
a) support the needs of gifted and talented students and those with gifted
and talented potential through faciltating advocacy efforts,
b) provide research-based information about the needs of gifted
and talented students with all stakeholders, and
c) build relationships with educators as well as the general public.
