Creative Exploration for Preschoolers

Creative Exploration for Preschoolers is a two-week program for high-ability pre- kindergarten (Pre-K) children.  Interdisciplinary classes meet 1 1/2-2 hours per day for two weeks; centered around a different theme each year, these classes are designed to foster advanced developmental skills, interpersonal communication, and creativity.

Eligibility and Admission Procedures: A child may qualify for UL Lafayette's pre-kindergarten classes in any one of three ways:

• Present evidence of classification as gifted by Louisiana state standards
• Present qualifying scores on an approved test of mental ability
• Complete testing at UL Lafayette and earn a minimum score on a mental ability test

  * *NOTE: Minimum scores vary by year but generally run at the 98th-99th percentiles.

  To apply, submit a completed pre-school application, along with a copy of the child's birth certificate and the $25.00 application/testing fee.
